Strength and Balance

Overview

Strength and Balance classes are specially designed to help older Islanders stay active, steady and independent for longer. Delivered at West Wight Sports & Community Centre in partnership with the Isle of Wight Council’s Public Health team, these friendly one‑hour sessions focus on exercises that improve stability, mobility and everyday confidence.

Suitable for older adults of all fitness levels, the class includes both seated and standing options, making it accessible and welcoming for anyone looking to improve their strength, balance and wellbeing. Your first class is FREE, making it an ideal opportunity to try something new in a supportive environment.

These sessions run weekly in Freshwater and are part of a wider island‑wide programme helping older adults stay stronger for longer.
