The Solent Swim is a major fundraising event for the West Wight Sports & Community Centre Trust (registered charity number 273334).
As a charity, we rely on grants and fundraising events like the Solent Swim to support our work.
WWSCC is more than just a swimming pool — it is a community hub offering facilities and services that support health, fitness, personal development and overall wellbeing. Funds raised through the Solent Swim help ensure we can continue providing vital services for the West Wight community.

The West Wight Solent Swim returns in 2026, with the main event scheduled for Saturday 25th July and a backup date of Sunday 26th July. This iconic challenge brings together swimmers, volunteers and supporters for one of the most memorable fundraising events of the year.
We are delighted to confirm our team of 80 swimmers for 2026. Congratulations to everyone taking part — we look forward to supporting you throughout your training and on the big day. Kayakers needed – Can you help?
We are looking for experienced Kayakers to help with our annual Solent Swim event.
If you’re confident on the water and want to be part of an amazing day, we’d love to hear from you! You’ll be helping to keep participants safe and supported throughout the event.

Watch the Swimmers arrive at Colwell Bay
Cheer them home whilst eating your bacon butties!
Swimmers will be making their way back into Colwell Bay early in the morning, and we’d love the community to come down and cheer them in. Your support creates an incredible atmosphere and gives every swimmer a huge lift as they complete their Solent crossing.
