At West Wight Sports and Community Centre, we are committed to creating a welcoming, inclusive environment where everyone can enjoy our facilities and activities. We aim to make our centre accessible to as many members of the community as possible and are continually working to improve access and inclusion across all areas of the site.

Accessible Entrance and Movement Around the Centre

  • Level access throughout the centre
  • Automatic doors at the main entrance
  • Ramped access to the Community Centre
  • Clear pathways to support easy movement between areas

Accessible Facilities

  • We provide a range of facilities designed to support visitors with additional accessibility needs:
    • A fully equipped Changing Places room
    • A separate disabled toilet located within both the Main Centre and the Community Centre
    • Accessible toilets clearly signposted and easy to reach

Swimming Pool Accessibility

Our swimming facilities are designed to be as inclusive as possible:

  • Hoists are available in both the Main Pool and the Learner Pool
  • Step access into both swimming pools
  • Staff available to assist where required

Inclusive Sports and Fitness Sessions

We do all we can to ensure our sessions are accessible to people of all abilities and fitness levels. Across both our wet and dry-side facilities, we offer:

  • A variety of fitness and activity sessions suitable for different abilities
  • Adapted and inclusive activities where possible
  • A dedicated swim session for people with additional needs
Our team is always happy to discuss individual requirements and help you find a suitable activity.

Assistance Dogs

We welcome Guide Dogs and registered assistance or ability dogs throughout the centre.

Breastfeeding-Friendly Venue

West Wight Sports and Community Centre is a registered breastfeeding-friendly venue, and we welcome breastfeeding across the centre.

To support parents and carers, we provide:
  • A dedicated breastfeeding chair and foot-stool
  • The option of a private, discreet space if this is preferred
