Canoeing & Kayaking

Overview

Canoeing and kayaking sessions at West Wight Sports and Community Centre on the Isle of Wight are delivered by the Isle of Wight Canoe Club, an independent, not‑for‑profit club founded in 2007. The club offers a wide range of paddlesport opportunities, from beginner pool‑based skills sessions to sea kayaking, canoeing and open‑water progression.

Pool skills sessions take place during the winter months at West Wight, providing a safe and supportive environment to build confidence and technique before moving onto open water. The club owns a variety of boats, including sit‑on‑tops, general‑purpose kayaks, canoes and sea kayaks, allowing participants to try different disciplines.

Please note: All canoeing and kayaking sessions are delivered by the Isle of Wight Canoe Club and are not included in any West Wight Sports and Community Centre memberships.
