Masters Swimming at West Wight Sports and Community Centre on the Isle of Wight offers structured, coach‑led swim training sessions for adults aged 18 and over. These sessions are designed for swimmers of all abilities, from those returning to swimming for fitness to experienced competitors training for pool or open water events.
Masters sessions focus on improving swimming technique, endurance, efficiency and speed through a planned programme of interval training. Masters Swimming sessions last 60 minutes and follow a structured training plan:

- Main set – Interval‑based training to improve speed or aerobic endurance.
- Pull or kick sets – Using equipment such as paddles, fins, kickboards or pull buoys.
- Cool‑down – Gradual reduction of intensity to aid recovery.

Sessions often include work across all four competitive strokes: freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly.
