Benefits
Yoga is widely recognised for its ability to improve physical health, mobility and mental wellbeing. Regular practice can offer:
- Improved flexibility and mobility — Slow, controlled stretching helps increase joint range of motion and reduce stiffness.
- Better posture and alignment — Strengthening postural muscles supports spinal health and reduces tension in the neck, shoulders and back.
- Enhanced balance and coordination — Mindful movement improves stability and reduces the risk of falls.
- Increased strength — Many yoga postures build strength in the core, legs, arms and back.
- Reduced stress and anxiety — Breathwork and relaxation techniques help lower cortisol levels and promote calmness.
- Boosted mood and energy — Yoga stimulates feel‑good endorphins, improving motivation and overall wellbeing.
- Improved body awareness — Practising with intention helps develop control, focus and a deeper connection to the body.
- Support for joint health — Low‑impact movement strengthens stabilising muscles and supports healthy, pain‑free movement.
- Reduced risk of injury — Increased mobility, strength and awareness help protect the body during everyday activities and other forms of exercise.
